Frederica: Gossip, scandal and an unforgettable Regency romance

Author(s): Georgette Heyer

Romance

Rich, handsome, darling of the ton, the hope of ambitious mothers and despair of his sisters, the Marquis of Alverstoke sees no reason to put himself out for anyone. Until a distant connection, ignorant of his selfishness, applies to him for help. Plunged into one drama after another by the large and irrepressible Merriville family, Alverstoke is surprised to find himself far from bored. The lovely Charis may be as hen-witted as she is beautiful but Jessamy is an interesting boy, and Felix an engaging scamp. And, most intriguing of all, their strong-minded sister Frederica, who seems more concerned with her family's welfare than his own distinguished attentions ...Frederica is a typically spirited, delightful, pulse-quickening historical romance from the author whose enormous devoted readership continues to this day.

Product Information

A rogueish aristocrat is humbled by the dilemmas of love in this Regency romance by one of our best-known and most beloved historical novelists.

"My favourite historical novelist -- stylish, romantic, sharp, and witty. Her sense of period is superb, her heroines are enterprising, and her heroes dashing. I owe her many happy hours" -- Margaret Drabble "Wonderful characters, elegant, witty writing, perfect period detail, and rapturously romantic" -- Katie Fforde "A writer of great wit and style ... I've read her books to ragged shreds" -- Kate Fenton Daily Telegraph

Author of over fifty books, Georgette Heyer is the best-known and best-loved of all historical novelists, who made the Regency period her own.
